Made in Leeds Festival. Leeds, West Yorkshire, UK.
In 2018 & 2019 The Festival was situated within the grounds of the beautiful 16th century Twaites Mill watermill museum, nestled on an island in south Leeds, is the truly breath-taking backdrop for the much loved one day event, the ‘Made in Leeds Festival’. Each year the event is curated by a group of Leeds own clubbing brands that have shaped the city’s night life, both past and present, all bringing their own unique and individual style to this eclectic dance music festival.
In 2018 all four arenas were powered by Funktion One, managed by the Leeds audio company: Audioserv Ltd. Both the main outdoor ‘Federation’ stage and the “Sleepin’ is Cheetin” arena were closely situated to each other and the controlled dispersion that Funktion One’s Res 5ts provide, minimised spill between them. With a line array, it would have been unworkable. Five Res 5t and three F221 per side covered the main outdoor stage, filling the field effortlessly. For the “Sleepin is Cheetin Arena” four Res 5t and three F221A per side were used, again covering the audience of two thousand people with ease.
“We work all year round with the clubs involved with Made in Leeds festival, so it is great to see them together within one event. They asked specifically for Funktion One for the event last year and it worked so well in the two main areas, that this year it was specified for every stage. We have been using Funktion One systems for their courtyard parties, festivals and on their float at Leeds Pride and it has become a familiar part of their events. With the different Funktion One boxes we have in stock, it is so versatile that we can cover any event.” Pete Rollinson, Audioserv LTD.
In 2019 we provided sound systems for all five stages, with Funktion-One (Official) Res and Evo systems on the four main stages and EAW/ Thunder Ridge on the VIP stage. We had lots of great feedback about the audio, especially about our newest Evo system on the Federation stage, it was flawless and sounded incredible. Not forgetting the epic Res systems on the Fibre, Casa Loco and SIC stages. The EAW system sounded great too.
