Halloween is always a fantastic opportunity to get creative with lighting, and this year's celebrations at The Climbing Lab in Leeds were no exception.
For the fifth year, Audioserv was invited back by Andrew, owner of The Climbing Lab, to provide specialist event lighting for the venue's annual Halloween party.
Located just off Kirkstall Road in Leeds, The Climbing Lab is a popular indoor climbing and bouldering centre. Its Halloween celebrations combine climbing challenges, competitions and a party atmosphere, making creative lighting an important part of the event.
For Halloween 2026, we supplied a combination of powerful UV lighting, moving head beams, coloured uplighting and outdoor architectural lighting to transform both the inside and outside of the building.
Creating the Halloween Atmosphere with UV Lighting
One of Andrew's main requirements was to create a strong ultraviolet lighting effect throughout the climbing centre.
To achieve this, we supplied six of our professional 200W UV COB cannons, positioned around the venue to provide widespread UV illumination.
These powerful UV fixtures helped create the distinctive ultraviolet glow associated with Halloween parties, bringing fluorescent colours and UV-reactive surfaces to life.
To complement the UV lighting, we also supplied a selection of our IP-rated chrome LED uplighters.
These were used to introduce a mixture of red and green lighting around the building, adding additional colour and helping create the spooky atmosphere Andrew was looking for.
Moving Head Lighting for the Party and Climbing Competition
Alongside the UV cannons and uplighting, we installed four BeamZ Pro Tiger MK3 moving head beam fixtures inside the climbing centre.
The moving heads provided dynamic lighting effects throughout the party, adding movement and energy to the venue.
However, these fixtures also had a more practical role.
Two of the moving heads were positioned to illuminate a specific section of the climbing wall where a competition was taking place throughout the event.
This allowed the competition area to receive dedicated lighting while the fixtures continued to contribute to the overall atmosphere.
It's a good example of how professional event lighting can serve more than one purpose, providing both visual effects and focused illumination where it's needed.
Transforming the Building with Outdoor Architectural Lighting
Having worked with Andrew on the previous four Halloween events, this year he wanted to try something a little different.
Rather than concentrating solely on the lighting inside the climbing centre, we were asked to create a dramatic Halloween lighting display across the exterior of the building.
For this, we supplied six of our BeamZ Pro NUKE3 outdoor LED wash fixtures.
The NUKE3 is a powerful professional lighting fixture, combining high-output RGB wash lighting with strobe effects. Its weather-resistant construction makes it particularly suitable for outdoor events and architectural lighting applications.
With a large building to illuminate, we needed fixtures capable of delivering strong colour coverage across the exterior.
The six NUKE3 fixtures were positioned to wash the building in a striking combination of red and green, completely changing its appearance after dark.
The result was an impressive Halloween-themed exterior that immediately set the mood for visitors arriving at the venue.
Andrew was extremely pleased with the finished effect, particularly the impact of the outdoor lighting, which provided something new for this year's celebrations.

This year's event demonstrated how combining different types of lighting can completely transform a venue.
From UV cannons and moving head beams inside the building to powerful outdoor LED washes, each element helped create the atmosphere required for the occasion.
